Overview:
Camchanh (kam-ch-ah-n) alleyway is a comprehensive 3D scene study. The intention of the project is to understand the core basics of 3D production with photogrammetry applications. Through model design, placement, texturing, and lighting, and rendering, Camchanh is a reflection of my memories of Sài Gòn and the stories that it conveys through the alleyways.

Ideation:
Inspired by Vietnam’s urban alleyways, I conducted visual research to identify objects, walls and textures, and light sources that are commonly seen in alleyways. Alleyways in Vietnam are also places of residence and a way of slow living, and I conveyed that concept through object modeling and scene building. The scene also featured physical scans of a dumpster, barrels, hydrant, and a moped.

Design:
The alleyway’s narrative is shown through four perspective shots, giving the audience a glimpse into what life is like in Camchanh. The lighting resembles an early morning where life is quiet as people are resting, but you can still find signs of activity.
